Congratulations to Georgia Herr. Her oil pastel tree titled "Haunting Tree" was selected to be on display at the Portland Museum of Art in celebration of Youth Art Month. Her work can be seen starting March 10th until early April. Stop in and see Georgia's art along with art from other area schools.
Peter H. Reynolds wrote and illustrated the children's book called "The Dot" which is about the importance of not being afraid to be creative and to try something new. A few years ago some educators started celebrating Dot Day as a way to build on the book's themes: bravery, creativity, self-expression, and how a teacher encourages students in these ways. International Dot Day grew from there as a way to encourage everyone in the world to be creative. The only guideline is that people read "The Dot" and use it as a jumping off place to express themselves. Help to celebrate "Dot Day" If you missed it this year, mark your calendar for next year, or plan your own Dot Day!
